2 chicks, 1 car, 10,000 miles of trouble – site!
A good friend of mine from North Carolina clearly needed some help.
She and her friend from New York were planning on getting an old car in the UK, and driving it for charity to Mongolia – 10,000 miles acrosss some of the most dangerous and inhospitable land on the planet.
I was busy working on other projects at the time, but in order to help them raise their profile to get more funds in, I did them a quick website based on a template I’d produced for InformationDefense.
The site allowed visitors to donate directly to the charity – Mercy Corps – through a Justgiving account also to the girls themselves using Paypal to help offset the $3,000 costs of the fuel, bribes etc!
They are due to reach their final desitination mid August 2009, along the way they have been updating the site themselves from web outlets – I won’t say cafes – along the way.
