New website for New Jersey IT Network Management Corporation launched
Creating Causes were approached in February 2011 by a previous client in New Jersey, USA.
One of their other business interests needed a new website to replace an old, static website that no longer reflected the dynamic nature of their business.
After initial consultation about functionality, and discussion about design options, we quickly helped them adapt current content and branding, into a completely new design with a host of new features for them:
- WordPress CMS based website
- Stock images sourced and purchased
- Existing branding and colour schemes weaved into new design
- Blog feature
- Relevant RSS feeds incorporated
- Completely manageable by clients with simple tuition and documentation from us
The WordPress CMS based website that we designed is completely manageable by our clients, both static content and dynamic blog / news content.
Creating Causes also arranged subsidized green web hosting with our Solar Powered web host partner in California.

Photographers in Cornwall launch new website – Kevern Photography
Our relationship with Chris and Rachel Kevern – Kevern Photography goes back to a chance meeting in Wales in 2002. Since then we have all remained close friends.
As their Cornish photography business grew during 2010, we were the natural partners for them to develop a new website.
Their requirements were simple – a basic website with information on who they are, what they can do, who their clients are, and the ability to display galleries of their great images.
The WordPress CMS platform was a natural choice for such a project enabling quick design and launching, with easy to manage maintenance and development moving forward.
Chris and Rachel with tuition and custom documentation are now easily able to maintain and develop all aspects of the site themselves.

10 Tips to Green IT – MD interviewed for US online News Magazine
Roger Hyde, Managing Director of Creating Causes, was recently interviewed by the Online Magazine ‘Small Business Computing’.
The Canadian Journalist Gerry Blackwell contacted Roger who is also a consultant for North Carolina based Environmental Consultancy ConsultITgreen.
The question asked was ‘What are the things that small businesses can do to reduce the carbon footprint of their computer / telecom operations?’
Roger’s essential main points were focused on 3 areas:
- Research and Learn
Understand what it is in your current habits, office systems and business practices that is using energy and wasting money, from this will come a baseline for future improvements, while saving energy and money. - Reduce Equipment Use & Power Consumption
There are many ways to do this, from optimizing power settings on devices, switching off all products / chargers when not being used, outsource server hosting where possible, seek out a green web host, consider VOIP based phone rather than land based… the list is long and worth investigating further for sure! - Replace Hardware with Energy Efficient & Greener Products
Repairing or upgrading older hardware is greener than purchasing new, but consider a new laptop will save 80% of the energy of an old desktop PC with a big old monitor. Also, make use of new technology to save buying multiple products – multifunction printers with fax, scanner etc, and new PDA devices getting away from needing separate MP3 players, GPS, HD camera and basic digital camera. Always look out for products on the Energy Star website too before purchasing new electrical products.

Shiplake Scramble 10k All Terrain Race website launched
Creating Causes have just designed and launched a new website for an all terrain race being held in Shiplake, Oxfordshire in May this year.
We had already produced a website for Alex Bradbury, of The Workout Company – an out door fitness provider in Henley on Thames. She is working on this project with her colleague who runs a team building events company, Team Activity Group.
Together they have organized this new event – a 10km race on roads and across country, near Shiplake on Thames. They are hoping for upwards of 500 entrants.
Both organizers have children at Shiplake Primary School, so some of the profits will be donated to them. The other official charity the run supports is Help For Heroes – a charity for the wounded in Britain’s current conflicts.
The website was produced using a customized WordPress Blog theme – Alex and Sarah received tutorials on how to manage and update the website themselves, with ongoing support of Creating Causes.
Website for renowned TV & Film Composer updated
Creating Causes were recently contacted by renowned London based TV and Film score composer, and songwriter Bella Saer to make some additions to, and update content on her current website.
She wanted her Joomla CMS website updated with text content, new images and new video. The video needed to be compressed and encoded from Quicktime to Flash Video format.
Her site has now also been backed up.

Green, Eco Friendly Web Hosting now offered at discount subsidised rates to all clients in the UK, USA & worldwide
Subsidised, Discount Green Web Hosting with every website design commission
Early this year Creating Causes became a partner of one of the worlds leading Green Web Hosting Providers, AISO based in California, USA.
Their servers are powered by solar energy, backed up of course by batteries. It is a little known fact that the IT Industry worldwide emits as many harmful CO2 emissions as the airline industry – see the link and information on our environmental policy page for more details.
Not only are the servers powered by the sun, the cooling system uses innovative and low energy natural solutions using water and air. See more information about these remarkable solutions here.
Creating Causes are proud to be a partner with AISO, and having worked with them on many websites during the previous year with no complaints, only praise for their integrity and quality of service, we now offer a new product for all future clients.
We are offering a discount hosting package – subsidised by us – with every new website design commission. Creating Causes pays to be a reseller for AISO, in this way we qualify for discount packages which are significantly more reasonable than any other regular Green hosting package currently available. Instead of making a markup, we pass this saving directly onto clients, in this way encouraging them to host green.
Clients pay no more than a regular hosting package (often significantly less), and for every new client who chooses this option, it’s one less website taking up server space on an ordinary, polluting web hosting server.
In this way we hope to be a small part of the solution, not remain part of the problem for this world.
Site launch for New York Artist Liz Lomax

Liz Lomax Website
Earlier this year I was approached by New York artist and Illustrator Liz Lomax about replacing her current website.
She needed a website that she could update herself, which would include comprehensive galleries showcasing her amazing art work, that would also incorporate her popular blog.
The new site needed to be optimized for search engines, and incorporate rich multimedia – video and dynamic image galleries, in order to showcase her past work, and in order to be able to show all her future work as well.
Over the summer we worked on the design together, ensuring all sections are completely within her control to edit and subsequently develop herself.
This process has involved numerous tutorials so that on launch, Liz was entirely confident with all apsects of the site structure, and all functions are within her control to edit herself – although I remain on call should any queries arise. I will of course also monitor site analytics to ensure that the search engine strategy is as effective as possible as we move forward.
The site is based on the WordPress blog format, so it has structural integrity. It is hosted by a solar powered web host in California to reduce the carbon footprint of her operation.
here’s what Liz had to say once her website was launched:
“If you’re considering a new website… look no further!
I am beyond thrilled with the new website Roger created for me! He was wonderful to work with, always accessible, extremely knowledgeable and able to solve any problem that arose.
It’s only been a few weeks since the new site launched and already I have seen an enormous increase in visitors worldwide. Thank you Roger!”
New office Location in Plymouth

After spending a lot of this year visiting with clients in the USA and Canada, Creating Causes have relocated to a new base in Plymouth, Devon – in the South West of England.
The brand new offices in the ‘Business Centre’ provide an ideal central location from which to work and meet clients.
The office space also helps reduce the environmental impact of our activities – the office is within easy walking distance of Plymouth City Centre, and with shared space, and resources, in a new environmentally conscious designed building, this move affirms our commitment to creating causes for a better future…
