New website launched for Plymouth Domestic & Commercial Repairs & Maintenance Contractor

Garth Williams - Plymouth, Devon Maintenance Contractor & NegotiatorCreating Causes were approached recently by a business they share office space with in the Plymouth Business Centre for advice about expanding the business, and whether a website would work well for them.

Garth Williams has over 20 years experience in the Maintenance Contract business here in Plymouth, Devon – 2009 saw him going alone to secure contracts – big and small, himself. His success is reflected in the rapid growth of the business.

Given the nature of the business – we advised that a website would work well for him, adding value to his growing company, enabling him to add confidence to his current customers, while also attracting and giving an excellent impression to potential future customers, in this way giving him a distinct advantage over his competition.

We advised and developed a simple website for him, essentially outlining his background, services offered, a list of his clients, a and a testimonials section. Importantly, the site also has blog functionality, enabling Garth to add news and images from new contracts completed, and also include other important company news as his business develops.

Our work included not only site consultation and design, also logo creation and we designed and arranged business cards to be printed.

Millburn / Shorthills New Jersey, USA website launched

Martini Bistro, Cocktail Bar & Restaurant, Millburn / Shorthills, NJAfter several months of collaboration, we’re pleased to announce the launch of a new website for the award winning and highly rated Martini Cocktail Bar, Bistro & Restaurant in Millburn, just outside New York City in New Jersey, USA.

The owners had an existing website that over time, as new technology developed, and their customers social media and internet awareness, they found their existing website was holding them back.

Static websites in this day and age don’t work well with Twitter and Facebook, they don’t allow users in this industry for example work with dynamic online review sites. it’s easy for a restaurant’s own website to be over-run online by a lot of other references to it, unless the website is dynamic, regularly updated, and relevant to the customers.

With this in mind, the new website was created, taking into account their colour schemes, and existing logos. We worked with the owners on every element. The staff onsite can manage the website content, upload new images, and include dynamic news and seasonal offers.

The website was launched last week, with further developments are being discussed, including interactive menus, and online ordering for take-out food.

Shiplake Scramble 10k All Terrain Race website launched

Shiplake Scramble WebsiteCreating Causes have just designed and launched a new website for an all terrain race being held in Shiplake, Oxfordshire in May this year.

We had already produced a website for Alex Bradbury, of The Workout Company – an out door fitness provider in Henley on Thames. She is working on this project with her colleague who runs a team building events company, Team Activity Group.

Together they have organized this new event – a 10km race on roads and across country, near Shiplake on Thames. They are hoping for upwards of 500 entrants.

Both organizers have children at Shiplake Primary School, so some of the profits will be donated to them. The other official charity the run supports is Help For Heroes – a charity for the wounded in Britain’s current conflicts.

The website was produced using a customized WordPress Blog theme – Alex and Sarah received tutorials on how to manage and update the website themselves, with ongoing support of Creating Causes.

Outdoor Fitness & Personal Training in Henley & Shiplake website

WorkOUTcompany Outdoor Fitness website

WorkOUTcompany Outdoor Fitness website

During a short visit with my sister at her home in Shiplake, Oxfordshire last year, she asked me to create a new website for a venture she was just about to undertake.

She was launching a company with a friend of hers giving outdoor fitness training, personal fitness instruction, and swimming lessons in and around Henley, Shiplake and the Thames Valley area.

I created the simple website in HTML while working with her for 1 day, and incorporated the few images she had at that time.

See the workOUTcompany website.

We are now discussing a new website for a cross country 10km running race she is setting up for May 2010 to be called the ‘Shiplake 10K’. She is expecting several hundred participants, with proceeds going to charity.

More news on this site when it is launched.

New website commission for bespoke, custom made Tweed clothing tailor

An old friend of mine contacted me recently with a view to me designing a website for his expanding business. After a long chat during which we discussed many,  options, we agreed to work together.

For five years he has developed a very successful business running on Ebay, essentially locating and cleaning up vintage tweed clothing, mixing, matching and products together, then selling them at profit online. His current business is called Style Service – check it out!

He is now expanding into buying new cloth, designing suites, and having them tailored – he’s creating his own bespoke custom tweed clothes line. In time he is also considering moving into accessories, expanding his range etc.

The new website currently under construction will be a showcase for his work, it will serve as a launch pad for all future lines, and it will also be his personal tweed blog – in this way becoming a one-stop shop for all tweed aficionados around the world – of which apparently there are many!

We’re looking to launch in the next couple of months – watch this space for more news on this, the designs for the site currently coming together look very original and fresh.

Site launch for New York Artist Liz Lomax

Liz Lomax Website

Liz Lomax Website

Earlier this year I was approached by New York artist and Illustrator Liz Lomax about replacing her current website.

She needed a website that she could update herself, which would include comprehensive galleries showcasing her amazing art work, that would also incorporate her popular blog.

The new site needed to be optimized for search engines, and incorporate rich multimedia – video and dynamic image galleries, in order to showcase her past work, and in order to be able to show all her future work as well.

Over the summer we worked on the design together, ensuring all sections are completely within her control to edit and subsequently develop herself.

This process has involved numerous tutorials so that on launch, Liz was entirely confident with all apsects of the site structure, and all functions are within her control to edit herself – although I remain on call should any queries arise. I will of course also monitor site analytics to ensure that the search engine strategy is as effective as possible as we move forward.

The site is based on the WordPress blog format, so it has structural integrity. It is hosted by a solar powered web host in California to reduce the carbon footprint of her operation.

here’s what Liz had to say once her website was launched:

“If you’re considering a new website… look no further!

I am beyond thrilled with the new website Roger created for me! He was wonderful to work with, always accessible, extremely knowledgeable and able to solve any problem that arose.

It’s only been a few weeks since the new site launched and already I have seen an enormous increase in visitors worldwide. Thank you Roger!”
